Sparkton

Sparkton is an online town designed to educate young people in Wales about safety through interactive games. This initiative was developed in collaboration with the three fire and rescue services in Wales (North Wales, South Wales, and Mid and West Wales). Sparkton covers various safety topics such as road safety, water safety, and fire safety, providing an entertaining and effective educational resource for schools.

Key Contributions and Tasks

• Customization:
  • Added quizzes to enhance the educational content, making the learning experience more interactive and engaging for young users.

  • Implemented localization features to ensure the content is accessible in multiple languages, catering to the diverse linguistic needs of Wales.
• Development Tools:
  • JavaScript and PixiJS: Utilized JavaScript and PixiJS, a fast 2D rendering engine, to develop and customize interactive elements within the game.
